Jim Loan is the Science Advisor. He was one of the original co-founders of C3L, the predecessor of Deuterium Energetics, and is the co-inventor of its confinement fusion technology. Jim studied at MIT and Harvard. He developed high-powered lasers and vacuum systems for Northrup. He has devised and implemented state of the art vacuum and process monitoring systems. At SONY he helped design, develop, and constructed several of the largest continuous in-line vacuum coating systems in the world. At MKS he designed and developed vacuum gauging, process controllers, and residual gas analyzers used as both analytical devices and process control systems for semiconductor manufacturing equipment and processes.
